Job description

Rusta is now extending the Quality & Sustainability department with a Technical Product Specialist with responsibility for the product groups Home Decoration (In- & outdoor, summer & christmas), Candle light & Toys. The person who will join the team will have the chance to start a career in a fast-growing Swedish company with many challenges ahead. In this role you will travel to Asia one week per quarter.
The main responsibilities include:
  • Together with Category and Product Managers develop products that fulfil our Customers expectations within the given category “Home Decoration; Candle lights & Toys”
  • Drive development, within the given category, with focus on quality, safety, durability and function
  • Secure that the price and quality ladder are aligned for the products in this category
  • Develop and implement technical documentation within the Business Area (requirements, tests, materials, manuals etc.)
  • Follow the customer returns development on Product, Business Area, Sourcing office and Supplier level and initiate actions when needed
  • Be the driving force to identify root causes behind why a product is not fulfilling our customers expectations and secure sustainable corrective actions
  • Monitor our competitors quality level and their development
  • Be the contact person for technical questions towards Rusta Customer Service, Store support and Supply Chain
  • At Supplier visits, support to ensure that the Rusta Code of Conduct is fulfilled




  • Improve Customer satisfaction within the given category with more than 20% per year
  • Secure that products fulfil Rusta minimum demands regarding quality as well as legal demands
  • Develop material specifications
  • Lead and steer the work with continuous improvements within the given category
  • Involve Rusta colleagues in Asia in the Quality development of the given category
  • Responsible for material requirements in Rusta Supplier Manual
  • Offer packaging and marking support to sourcing teams in Asia and Sweden
  • Drive and lead projects within the Quality & Sustainability department



Your profile

To be successful in the role the following characteristics are important:
  • Relevant academic degree
  • Five years working experience from similar roles, this could include product development, product manager, development specialist, material specialist or similar where also quality was in focus
  • Passionate and educated about the materials and a curious mindset to learn more
  • Professional business English language skills is required
